Teac Cd 2000 Pdf Physical Description

One of the reviews (in German) suggests that the bass for the CD-2000 is not completely neutral.

I have been looking for a new CD player since the demise of my Luxman DZ-112.

Reviews suggested that a good replacement would be the TEAC HD-P600 (700).

While I was thinking about it in November, the HD-P600 was discontinued, and TEAC told me in an email that the existing stock had been completely sold out.

I listened to two CD players, the Rega Apollo R and the Marantz 8003 (; seems to have disappeared from their website) at a local stereo store, but I wasnt taken with either one.

TEAC makes another line of CD players in the Distinction series.

I can find practically nothing about these CD players on the web.

There are a couple of reviews, but no user commentary that I can find.

Over the weekend I saw that the high-end TEAC CD-3000 (2000) was selling for 1050 (now back to 2000) at Amazon, and I hesitantly decided to buy one.

I am wondering if anyone has any of the TEAC Distinction CD players or has any information about them.

I wasnt eager to buy the last one, in case of problems.

Im hoping that its a cheaper version of an Esoteric player, but it would be nice to have some actual information confirming that.

I dont have another player to compare it to at home, and Im skeptical that my Allison Two speakers from 1981 (next on the replacement agenda) are going to display differences clearly.

The remote control has an aluminum front, which makes it relatively heavy.

The linked review says that the unit does not appear to have an Esoteric CD drive.

Sound testing. I have a Rotel 985BX (from 1998), Allison Two speakers (from antiquity), and Sennheiser HD555 headphones.

I tested the CD-3000 through this system, but I dont have comparisons with any other gear.

I only have classical CDs, mostly music composed before 1830.

I especially like the sound of solo instruments and voices, whose production I think is excellent.

To me, the solo instruments and voices have a very realistic and appealing sound.

I have been less taken with the sound in larger orchestral works.

In the Beethoven 9th Symphony, I think that the bass frequencies tend to dominate, and Im not hearing the high-end power that I was sort of expecting.

I have no idea whether thats from the player or my elderly speakers, or that I have the wrong expectations.
